Ensuring the continuity of valuable care and support services, the Estepona City Council has unanimously approved the allocation of a municipal property to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) for a twenty-year period. Spearheaded by María Aguilar, Councilwoman for Social Integration and Social Services, this transfer provides the association with a new space at 170 Terraza Street, equipped with three rooms for its services. The new headquarters includes a specially designed room for personalized care and privacy, offering consultations with the social worker, intake interviews with new patients, and a private area for trying on wigs. Here, the AECC provides free care through psychological support, social services, physical therapy, and workshops to improve the well-being of cancer patients and their families. Councilwoman María Aguilar expressed support for the AECC’s work and emphasized the City Council’s commitment to collaborating with social organizations to ensure they can continue their vital services. This partnership strengthens the City Council’s support for comprehensive cancer care, prevention, awareness, and research.
