The Regulatory Ordinance on Circulation and use of Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMV) will come into force tomorrow in Estepona. This ordinance aims to promote road safety and ensure that the circulation of Personal Mobility Vehicles is carried out in a safe way, compatible with the different uses of public roads. Users must be over 16 years old, wear an approved helmet, and refrain from using cell phones or headphones while driving. Violations of the regulations will be sanctioned by the Local Police. The ordinance also prohibits driving on sidewalks and recommends the use of appropriate footwear and reflective vests. Vertical signage has been installed to indicate areas where the circulation of these vehicles is prohibited. The goal is to improve road safety, promote new modes of mobility, clean energy, and peaceful coexistence among citizens.
