Scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, October 1, the program will feature cultural and recreational activities dedicated to the elderly. The City Council of Estepona has coordinated with the Municipal Geriatric Office, the Red Cross, and the Residence for the Elderly of the Andalusian Government in Isdabe to organize a series of events honoring the elderly residents of the city. With over a hundred individuals expected to take part, the activities will commence on October 1. Councilman Daniel Garcia announced that the day will kick off at 10:30 am with a guided tour of the municipal museums and an exhibition at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center. Later in the afternoon, at 5:00 pm, there will be a snack and dance session featuring participants from the Red Cross program ‘Enrédate-Soledad no Deseada’. The city aims to encourage active participation of the elderly in cultural pursuits and promote healthy aging. A variety of activities are offered throughout the year, including digital literacy workshops, dance therapy, gymnastics, and the program ‘The sound beautifies you’. The Municipal Geriatric Office also provides chronic disease management, psychological therapies, cognitive assessments, and podiatric care. This week will see a diverse range of recreational, cultural, sports, and social activities involving residents, family members, professionals, volunteers, and neighbors. The community-oriented approach aims to strengthen bonds and enhance the residents’ quality of life, recognizing their significant contributions to society.
