The opportunity to represent Cancelada in the upcoming event, scheduled from August 20 to 23, is now available for interested individuals. Starting from May 6 until May 29, applications can be submitted for the election of Queens and Ladies of the Fair of Cancelada, as announced by the Estepona City Council. Tomorrow, August 6, marks the opening of the registration period for this prestigious event. To participate, candidates must be registered in Estepona and provide a photocopy of their ID. For minors, a copy of the Family Book and contact number are required. Parental authorizations must also be submitted for underage applicants. The competition features two categories: Children, aged 6 to 12, and Youth, aged 16 to 21. Previous queens in the same category are not eligible to compete. Selection of child participants will be done by lottery. The procession of Cancelada is set for June 12, where a Queen and three ladies per category will be chosen. Selected candidates are expected to attend rehearsals and related events, committing to their participation. The chosen queens and ladies will also reign over the San Isidro festivities in Cancelada on May 1, 2027. Their reigns will conclude with the coronation of the queens and ladies for the Fair and Festivities of Cancelada in 2027.
