The local government has finished the extensive renovation of Manuel Requena ‘Melilla’ square, including new lighting, street furniture, and landscaping. This project is part of the city’s initiative to enhance neighborhoods and provide citizens with improved public spaces. The square, previously in a deteriorated state, has been transformed into a modern civic area with playgrounds, rest zones, and greenery. With a new lighting system and upgraded infrastructure, the square now offers a welcoming environment for relaxation, socializing, and recreation. Deputy Mayor Ana Velasco highlights that this renovation aligns with the city’s efforts to meet the evolving needs of its traditional neighborhoods. The project, costing approximately 395,000 euros, also involved replacing the pavement, sewerage, and water systems, as well as installing a new fountain.
