Beyond the usual maintenance tasks and small repairs done during school breaks, there are currently large-scale construction projects underway that will lead to a notable transformation of these educational environments. Estepona City Council has announced a landmark investment of over 800,000 euros this year for construction projects aimed at enhancing the city’s schools, demonstrating its dedication to creating safer, more functional, and more suitable spaces for the educational community. María Aguilar, the councilwoman overseeing the Department of Education and Children’s Affairs, stated that in addition to regular maintenance tasks and minor repairs conducted during school breaks, extensive projects are being carried out this year to extensively renovate 18 educational facilities in the city, including primary schools and preschools. Among these projects, significant funds have been allocated to replace flooring in outdoor walkways, renovate restrooms, and improve playgrounds at various schools. The council has also invested in installing laminate flooring in classrooms and safety flooring in playgrounds, as well as improving classroom conditions by installing air conditioning and heating units through the Climate Control Plan. This substantial investment plan underscores Estepona City Council’s commitment to enhancing educational spaces, implementing initiatives that will have long-lasting positive effects and showcasing the city’s dedication to providing top-quality public schools.
