A number of prominent fighters from the global stage will participate in this event scheduled for February 21 at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos. The councilman from the delegation of Sports, Luis Gil, and the president of the K-9 Club Estepona, Manuel Postigo, unveiled the Grand Slam Costa del Sol Kick Boxing ‘The Origin’, set to take place on Saturday, February 22 at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos El Ayuntamiento de Estepona. This tournament, organized by the K-9 Estepona Club in partnership with the Consistory, promises thrilling battles, bringing back the raw essence of combat sports from previous editions. The councilman highlighted the event’s consistent success over the years, attributing it to the high caliber of participants that have established it as a leading event in contact sports. The Grand Slam K-9 Costa del Sol ‘The Origin’ features competitions in K-1, Kick Boxing, Muay Thai, and Boxing, with the addition of MMA this year to reflect the sport’s growing popularity, showcasing local athletes. The Club K-9 Estepona president mentioned that the event will have multiple segments, starting with the Amateur Gala featuring K-1 Muay Thai at 16:30, allowing young athletes from local Kick Boxing clubs to participate; followed by the Boxing Block at 18:00, showcasing intense fights where each round will be a battle; and concluding with the Professional Gala for K-1 and MMA, where 3 professional Andalusian titles will be contested, along with the Spain Professional Title up for grabs by local athlete Jose Plaza, and the World Slam Series World title, contested by Esteponero athlete Christopher Mena. This sporting extravaganza, as explained by Manuel Postigo, will see around 140 athletes from various countries such as Spain, England, Portugal, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, and Morocco, promoting the Club K-9 Estepona’s representation. Tickets can be purchased at affiliated gyms listed on the official Instagram page of Gran Slam K-9 Costa del Sol, priced at 30 euros for bleacher and regular seating, and 50 euros for exclusive ringside seats. Additionally, there will be VIP tables with dinner included.
