Scheduled for next Saturday, April 4, the staging of the Passion of Christ will kick off at 5:30 p.m. at Plaza San Francisco, featuring the Last Supper, and will conclude at the Botanical Orchid Park with the Crucifixion. Estepona City Council has announced that the ‘Friends of the Passion’ Association, led by Miguel Lopez Ramirez as director, Miguel Angel Lopez as assistant director, and Luque in charge of technical coordination, will be responsible for this event. This reenactment of the Passion, a tradition in Estepona’s old town since 2014, will involve around one hundred participants including amateur actors and technicians. The performance will start at 17:30 at Plaza San Francisco, near the Church of Los Remedios, showcasing the Last Supper, and will proceed through various streets before concluding around 19:30 at the Botanical Orchid Park Orchidarium with the Crucifixion. The route will include Plaza San Francisco (Last Supper), Blas Ortega Street, Manuel Alcántara Square (Garden of Gethsemane), Caravaca Street, Clock Square (Palace of Caiaphas), Blas Infante Square, Viento Street, Castillo Street (Pilate’s Palace and Herod’s Palace), Santa Ana Street, Real Street (First Fall), Terraza Street (Second and Third Falls), and the Botanical Orchid Park Orchidarium (Crucifixion).
