A group of 15 operators will join the team, equipped with pressure washers, brushes, and strippers. Additionally, a crane truck will be added for furniture and household goods collection in the suburban area, along with a brigade truck for the same purpose in other areas. The City Council of Estepona has announced the commencement of the annual reinforcement of street cleaning services and bulky waste collection in March. These additional personnel will be on duty until November. Deputy mayor Blas Ruzafa, responsible for External Control and Resource Management, highlighted that this reinforcement aligns with the upcoming Easter and tourist season, when the town experiences a surge in population due to visitors and second home owners. The increase in footfall necessitates expanded resources for maintaining the cleanliness of public spaces and streets. Key measures include introducing an evening shift for sweepers and boosting the number of pressure washers to enhance cleaning and upkeep. This initiative aims to extend coverage to all neighborhoods and meet cleaning requirements across the municipality more effectively. Furthermore, a specialized team will commence work in suburban areas from April onwards to enhance maintenance and cleanliness in those regions. Ruzafa mentioned the addition of a crane truck for waste removal and a brigade truck for container area cleaning. The use of scented detergents with orange blossom fragrance will continue, as in previous years. Initial cleaning efforts have targeted the promenade and boulevard, utilizing advanced machinery to tackle embedded dirt on pavements and sidewalks. This operation will gradually expand to cover the entire city in the coming weeks. Extended work shifts and specialized vehicles with high-pressure water systems, including a sweeping tanker, are being deployed to support these cleaning activities. Services will run from Monday to Friday, with a dedicated hydro-cleaning shift on weekends and holidays to ensure cleanliness in high-traffic areas.
