The City Council of Estepona unanimously approved a resolution to push the central government to build a new police station on the land that was handed over to the Ministry of Interior in 2020. The Council emphasized the need for more resources and National Police officers to address the growing population and influx of tourists. Despite ceding a plot of land five years ago, no progress has been made in constructing the facility. The Council has also focused on enhancing the Local Police force by recruiting additional personnel. In addition, the Council has conferred the Medal of the City to several religious images and designated a public space in honor of Our Lady of Solitude. Planning measures have been implemented to promote subsidized housing and protect buyers of new properties.
