As part of Juan Miguel Quiñones’ exhibition ‘Quiñones: Al Origen’, the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center will showcase a massive 3,000-kilo ice cream sculpture made of marble. This sculpture is a recreation of the iconic ‘Dracula’ popsicle, a beloved childhood symbol in the country. The exhibition features 180 pieces crafted from marble and various stones, depicting classic summer items like ice cream treats, beach toys, surfboards, and more. Quiñones, inspired by his own childhood memories, meticulously sculpts these objects using hard stone techniques, creating a nostalgic connection with visitors. The exhibition, open to the public from Saturday, August 2, offers a unique blend of traditional stonemasonry and contemporary artistry. Visitors can admire the artist’s intricate work, influenced by his hometown’s quarries in Vejer de la Frontera. This exhibition marks a significant moment in Quiñones’ artistic journey, showcasing his deep emotional connection to Estepona and his innovative approach to sculpting iconic objects.
