Scheduled for Saturday, May 30, the event will kick off at 10.00 am from the Mirador del Carmen and conclude at the Plaza del Reloj. Participants will embark on a 3-kilometer non-competitive walk. Maria Aguilar, councilor for Citizen Participation, Julia Crespo, president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Estepona, and Paqui Fernandez Torres, director of CEIP St. Thomas Aquinas, jointly introduced the School Solidarity Walk against Cancer. Aguilar expressed gratitude to AECC Estepona for organizing the event, emphasizing its dual purpose of raising funds and instilling values of compassion and support in the younger generation. Crespo elaborated on the walk, highlighting its family-friendly nature and its goals of promoting solidarity, healthy habits, and fundraising for AECC’s services in Estepona. She also underscored the importance of bringing awareness about the association’s work to schools. The students participating in the event have each secured sponsors to contribute financially, encouraging active involvement and fostering a sense of altruism.
