Efforts have commenced on the coast to clear plastics and debris washed away by waterways. Estepona’s City Council has initiated a special operation to clean and repair roads, river crossings, and stream passages damaged by intense rainfall. Municipal Operational Brigades have been dispatched to Cala Alta, addressing landslides, as well as to Guadalobón and Monterroso rivers. Heavy machinery is being used to clear debris and restore roads, enhancing mobility for residents in the affected areas. The cleanup and repair operations will be prioritized based on immediate needs and will continue as water levels recede in the upcoming days. Beach cleaning has also started to address the significant buildup of waste and vegetation. Workers are removing plastic waste, with plans to clear plant debris once water levels normalize. Additionally, municipal parks, closed as a precautionary measure during the heavy rain forecast last Saturday, have now been reopened.
