The award ceremony for the IV Novel Prize ‘Ciudad de Estepona’ will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, at the Auditorium of the Mirador del Carmen. Organized by the Estepona City Council and the Manuel Alcantara Foundation, this literary contest awards the winning work with 25,000 euros and publication in the Pre-Textos publishing house. Estepona Town Hall announces that Javier Ojeda, a beloved artist from Malaga known for his work with ‘Danza Invisible’, will perform at the ceremony. Ojeda, an expert in Latin and black music, has had a successful solo career exploring musical crossbreeding and research. Admission to the event is free until full capacity. The winning work ‘Mentir la verdad. Confessions of a political falsifier’ by Argentine writer Ariel Magnus will be available for purchase on the day of the event. The novel, which blends real and fictional elements, narrates the life of Heinrich Jürges, a young German involved in the Nazis and later the Black Front in South America. Ariel Magnus will receive the award and engage in a colloquium with Guillermo Busutil, director of activities at the Alcantara Foundation. The jury praised the work’s exploration of fake news and informative manipulation. The City of Estepona Novel Prize has been a success since its inception, attracting international writers and reaching nearly 700 entries in its latest edition.
