The municipal staff guided students along the 5,500-meter long ‘Pinsapo Integral’ trail with an elevation gain of 600 meters. Estepona City Council concluded the 2025–26 edition of the ‘Municipal School Hiking Program’ last Friday. This program, aimed at elementary, middle, and high school students, saw the participation of about 2,500 students aged 7 to 18 from different schools in the municipality. To end the school year, a group of twenty 4th-year ESO and high school students, accompanied by teachers, took part in a hike along the north face of Sierra Bermeja. The 5,500-meter ‘Pinsapo Integral’ route, ending at the 1,452-meter summit of Pico de Los Reales, was led by three municipal guides. This route, which overlaps with the Sierra Bermeja Trail, contributes to the restoration of sections affected by the 2021 wildfire. The ‘Municipal School Hiking Program’ was initiated in 2013 and is a collaboration between the municipal departments of Youth, Sports, and the Environment.
